Charlie Colin, a founding member of Train and former bassist, passes away at the age of 58.

Charlie Colin has away at the age of 58, his sister confirmed to CBS News. Colin was a founding member and former bassist of the band Train.
Although there were little circumstances surrounding his death, TMZ said the artist collapsed while housesitting in Brussels, Belgium, and slipped in the shower. His social media profile indicated that he was residing in Belgium at the time of his death.

Train said on social media, “He was THE sweetest guy and what a handsome chap.” It makes sense to form a band, therefore let’s do that. His distinctive bass playing combined with exquisite guitar work made us known in San Francisco and beyond. He will always have a special place in my heart. He had his own vision, despite my constant attempts to nudge him in my direction. Charlie, you’re a legend. Proceed to enchant them angels to no end.”

The band Train was founded in San Francisco in 1993 by Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford, and Scott Underwood. The band gained popularity in 2001 with the release of their album and hit “Drops of Jupiter.” The band received Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance for both the single and the album.
Variety claims that Colin’s drug habit caused him to leave the band in 2003, although he went on to play in other bands, often alongside Hotchkiss and Underwood, his former colleagues.
