In the first meeting between the South American rivals since the World Cup last year, Brazil will welcome world winners Argentina at the storied Maracana.

A big setback to Brazil, Vinicius Jr. sustained a hamstring injury during the loss to Colombia and will be out till the New Year. The hosts, who were already missing Richarlison, Casemiro, and Neymar, will decide at the last minute if Gabriel Jesus is able to play. This will be the striker for Arsenal’s first action since the victory over Sevilla last month.
Following a fitness scare, Lionel Messi is fit to play against Brazil. Lisandro Martinez is the biggest injury absentee for Argentina, but after their loss to Uruguay on Friday, the world champions may make a few changes.
