Whatever the backlash, she is happier than ever.
Early on Tuesday, Billie Eilish made their contentious relationship with Jesse Rutherford, her considerably older lover, Instagram public.
The Neighbourhood singer, 31, and the “TV” singer, 20, both posted a carousel of images from their Halloween celebrations over the weekend. They are both dressed as a baby and an elderly man, respectively.
A picture of Rutherford dressed as a clown was also supplied.
“Happy Halloween,” and “life is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy,” Eilish wrote the post’s caption.
At a celebrity-studded celebration on Sunday, the newlyweds presented their Halloween costumes, with Eilish donning a bonnet, bib, and doll makeup and Rutherford donning a bald hat and a grey moustache.
One admirer made fun of the 10-year age difference between the two by tweeting, “can’t believe billie eilish and jesse rutherford didn’t dress up for halloween.”
Another person said, “Billie is mature enough to recognise how bizarre and frightening this is.”
When they were spotted dining together in Los Angeles in the middle of October, Eilish and Rutherford first fueled dating rumours. They were seen holding hands during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios the next evening.
Fans at the time uploaded throwback images that showed the musicians have been friends since at least 2017, when Rutherford was 26 and Eilish was 15.

Eilish has a history of dating older men. From 2018 to 2019, she dated rapper Brandon “Q” Adams, who is five years older than she is, and from 2021 to 2022, she dated actor Matthew Tyler Vorce, who is ten years older.
