Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was taken off the pitch after sustaining a leg injury during practise.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow experienced a calf injury during practise Thursday and will be evaluated further, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Burrow was taken off the pitch at the Paycor Stadium facility, and head coach Zac Taylor informed media that the seriousness of the injuries will be known shortly.

Burrow pumped left and scrambled right as he came up limping during an 11-on-11 exercise, plainly favouring his right leg as he skipped on his left leg before collapsing on the practise pitch, according to footage captured by WCPO-TV. Burrow was treated to by medical personnel before being taken away.

following some unsaid discussion with the star quarterback on the practise field, Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase told reporters following Thursday’s practise that he isn’t very worried about Burrow’s situation.

“We always give each other that nod,” Chase remarked, according to The Athletic. “He gave me a nod that he’s well. He’s a tough guy.”

Burrow, a Pro Bowler who guided the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance in 2021, tore his left ACL during his first season in 2020. He’s moved Cincinnati into the AFC’s top spot since returning from that injury.

Burrow will enter the 2023 season in the midst of contract negotiations with the Bengals, whom he guided to back-to-back division victories for the first time in team history.

Burrow, who arrived to camp in 2021 rehabilitating a knee injury and had an appendectomy at the start of last year’s camp, expressed his joy about the possibility of a problem-free August on Wednesday.

“I know I’m going to get a lot more out of this training camp than I have the last two, as long as I stay healthy, which, as I said, ‘knock on wood.’” According to the team’s official website, “nothing has happened yet.” “The more reps you get at the position, the more game speed reps you get, the better you’ll be in Week 1.” I worked hard all offseason and am in terrific physical and mental shape. So I’m prepared to approach this training camp with zeal and aim for excellence. That’s what gets me going.”

Unfortunately for Burrow, it seems that any preseason action is doubtful, as Cincinnati waits for the best news possible about its franchise quarterback in the coming days.
