Barcelona comes from behind to defeat Tottenham in the Joan Gamper Trophy final.

Barcelona stunned Tottenham Hotspur by scoring three goals in 12 minutes on Tuesday to win the Joan Gamper Trophy.

With nine minutes left in regulation, the Catalan club trailed 2-1, but Ferran Torres levelled before Ansu Fati put Barcelona ahead in the 90th minute and Abde Ezzalzouli made it 4-2 in stoppage time.

All three had entered the game in the 61st minute, after Barcelona had taken an early lead via Robert Lewandowski and Spurs’ Oliver Skipp scored twice before halftime to give his team a 2-1 advantage.

Barcelona finished their preseason with a fourth victory in five matches ahead of their LaLiga championship defence against Getafe on Sunday.

The game was Barcelona’s first in the Monjuic Olympic Stadium, the team’s temporary home for the 2023-24 season while the Camp Nou is being renovated.

Summer reinforcements for Barcelona Before the game, Ilkay Gündogan, Oriol Romeu, and Iigo Martnez were all introduced to a crowd of around 35,244 people, and coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the supporters, stating that “winning all the titles is his team’s biggest aim this season.”

France striker Ousmane Dembele, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million, and Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie, who is close to joining Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, were both left out of the team.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane stayed in London while his club held negotiations with Bayern Munich about a possible move.

Barca wasted no time in taking the lead in the third minute when Lewandowski hit from close range following a superb move from Raphinha, and the Brazilian could have doubled the advantage shortly after only for his close-range shot to go over the bar.

Tottenham custodian Guglielmo Vicario had to stretch to save Lewandowski’s 30-yard shot.

Spurs equalised midway through the first half. Reguilon found Giovanni Lo Celso in the box, and the Argentine’s shot hit the post, but Skipp was there to tap in.

Tottenham moved forward and took the lead in the 37th minute when Skipp headed in Ivan Perisic’s cross.

Gündogan was one of six Barcelona players who came on after the hour mark, receiving a standing ovation from the fans as he approached the pitch. Barcelona looked more threatening and equalised in the 81st minute when Yamine Lamal squared the ball into the box and Torres scored from six yards.

Lamal’s excellent play caught Spurs off guard, and he picked up Torres with a square ball, who then found Fati in the box for a precise finish to put Barcelona ahead.

Fermin Lopez set up Abde in the area, and he hammered the ball into the back of the goal to cap off a fantastic night for Barcelona.

Tottenham will resume Premier League action at Brentford on Saturday.
