Ezra Miller, the troubled actor of the upcoming film The Flash, has at long last joined the speed force. Miller has been missing from the DC film’s publicity tour as a result of his involvement in a number of unsettling claims and arrests that endangered the chances of the superhero movie. That is, until Monday night, when they attended the Los Angeles premiere of the film and walked the red carpet.
After posing for pictures while wearing a white suit jacket with metal lightning bolts, Miller thanked The Flash’s creative team for openly standing by them throughout the controversy. I cherish you, Maestro. Miller told the movie’s director, Andy Muschietti, in a video published by Deadline, “I believe you are fantastic, and I think your work is tremendous.
Miller then praised David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, Pamela Abdy, and Michael De Luca of Warner Bros. for their help in getting them the role in 2014, as well as Zack and Deborah Snyder. Miller ended by praising “the dynamic duo” of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the leaders of DC Studios, “for your grace, discernment, and care in the context of my life and in actually bringing this moment to fruition.”
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Chastain, who all starred in Muschietti’s It Chapter Two, were present at the screening but there were no interviews there. At the premiere, Miller thanked “the thousands of artists and workers who made this movie, everyone who supported us in our lives and in the world” while standing on stage. And everyone who has helped me along this difficult but very wonderful journey over the last ten years in my life and in the globe.
The pair earlier expressed regret for their behaviour in August of last year and said they were undergoing therapy for “complex mental health issues.” At the time, they also said in a statement, “I want to apologise to everyone who I have scared and hurt by my previous behaviour. I’m determined to put in the required effort to resume living a safe, secure, and fruitful lifestyle.
The actor pleaded admission to a misdemeanour of unauthorised trespassing in a Vermont court in January. The parties involved in the case agreed to dismiss a burglary allegation that could have resulted in a possible 25-year jail term as well as a larceny charge, according to a spokeswoman for Vermont Superior Court. Miller will serve a year of probation, pay a $500 fine, and be subject to a variety of requirements, including regular mental health therapy.
A representative for Miller previously told VF that the idea that The Flash was in danger was a wake-up call. On June 16, the film has its theatrical premiere. Miller plays two prominent parts.
