Arsenal advances to the championship game with a victory against Man United.

Leandro Trossard of Arsenal took advantage of awful Manchester United defence to record a 1-0 victory on Sunday, moving his team temporarily ahead of Manchester City atop the Premier League standings and ensuring that the championship fight would go all the way to the final day.
With one game remaining in the closest championship battle in years, holders City lead Arsenal (who have only won twice at Old Trafford in their previous 17 trips) by 86 points with two games remaining.

When City visits Arsenal’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, they have the opportunity to regain the lead. City is looking for a record fourth straight English top-flight crown.
Arsenal’s Kai Havertz said, “I am going to be the biggest fan of Tottenham ever,” according to Sky Sports. “Let’s hope for the best.”Even if it wasn’t our finest performance, we are nevertheless satisfied since we got the three points we needed. We have to win each and every game because City never lets up,” he said. Being in the race is great, but you have to give it your all each week. It feels much better once you’ve done it.”
In the twentieth minute, Havertz waltzed into space on the right, hardly facing any opposition, before putting the ball into the box, where Trossard easily scored.
As custodian André Onana blasted the ball upfield, heads turned to look for an offside flag. However, Casemiro, who had lately moved from midfield into United’s injury-ravaged defence line, had gently pushed away from the box and kept Havertz onside.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, was left shaking his head in exasperation.
“Clearly, our sole goal is to win the league,” Trossard said to Sky. “We have done our job today and it will be up to the last game and that is what we are aiming for.”
During the last anxious few minutes, the game bounced from end to end, with Onana flying to block efforts from Declan Rice and Arsenal replacement Gabriel Martinelli.
With two games remaining, United, who were trying to recover from a terrible 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Monday, are now ranked seventh. In their pursuit of a European spot for the next campaign, they are three points behind Newcastle in sixth position, and Wednesday’s visit by the Magpies to Old Trafford will be a crucial encounter.
Missing Europe, according to Ten Hag, would be “very damaging”.
He told reporters, “That is the situation we are in, but we can still get there.” “We have to take the responsibility, we have to fight for it, and everyone knows this.”
With Trossard’s goal, Ten Hag’s has now let up 82 goals in all competitions this season, which is a record for most in a single season since 1970–71.
In the latter third, United had a lot of possession and had 14 shots to Arsenal’s 11, but they were unable to generate many good opportunities.
United’s best danger, especially in the second half, was Alejandro Garnacho. Before lowering his head in disgust, he sent one shot wide and another into the side netting.
The game was closer than expected, and the visiting supporters, whose chanting did not stop all evening, burst into applause after the final whistle. After the work that Mikel Arteta’s squad had done, not even the intense rain could stifle their joy.
“We needed a result today in a really difficult place,” Arteta said. “Our history was not in favour of a result today, there was so much at stake and we’re happy with the result.”
This season, Arsenal has kept 18 clean sheets in the league, and Sunday’s win was their 27th overall, a record only exceeded by 1930–31 (28 victories) and 1970–71 (29 wins).
This season, United has lost 19 games in all competitions, which is a record set by 1978–79 (19 games lost).
The season finale between Arsenal and City is at home against West Ham and Everton.
