Amid news of Travis Kelce’s retirement, his friends honor his brother Jason.

Jason Kelce, the center for the Philadelphia Eagles, is said to have informed his colleagues that he was formally retiring from the National Football League on Monday, January 15, after a depressing defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fans responded to the revelation on social media by showing love and support for Jason, when the NFL announced the news. More individuals are now supporting the 36-year-old, including personal chef Kumar Ferguson and closest friend of his younger brother Travis Kelce, Aric Jones.

Jones uploaded a picture of Jason exiting his last game from the NFL official Instagram account to his Instagram Stories, overlaying it with a tiger emoji. Ferguson posted the same information on his Facebook, along with an emoji of a tiger.

The tiger alludes to the mascot of Jason and Travis’ high school, Cleveland Heights High School, where the brothers Ferguson and Jones are all students.

Although neither Jason nor Travis have yet to respond to the news of their retirement, many anticipate that they will talk about the significant professional decision in the next edition of their podcast, New Heights, which is scheduled to air on Wednesday morning.

Jason made a brief statement on his potential retirement before Monday’s game, telling NBC Sports Philadelphia that he was more concerned about the game that day than anything else.

“No matter how many more years I play, or any of us play, this team right now only has one [guaranteed] game left and that’s what we’re really focused on,” he said with conviction.

Later, while Jason was wrapping up what was probably his last game, the New Heights podcast account on X retweeted an NFL footage showing the player for the Philadelphia Eagles going through an emotional moment on the field. The account also included the hashtag “💚🦅,” which seemed to be a reference to the news.
