After losing to the Seahawks, Jalen Hurts criticizes the Eagles for not being “committed enough.”

The Seattle Seahawks’ backup quarterback, Drew Lock, drove 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the last minute, causing the Philadelphia Eagles to falter and lose their third consecutive game as the reigning NFC champions.

Jalen Hurts, who was quiet after the offense was kept to less than 20 points for the third straight game, blamed the team’s general lack of dedication and execution after the team lost 20–17.

After Monday’s defeat, he said, “I’ve been talking about execution all year, being on the same page, everyone being on the same page.” “We didn’t execute. I don’t think we’re, we’re all, we’re committed enough. Just got to turn it around. You know, it’s a challenge that we have to embrace. Just continue to see it through.”

Hurts said, “Commitment. I don’t have a dictionary on me now. I don’t know how else to say that,” when asked what he intended to convey when he said he wasn’t committed.

The 25-year-old quarterback is capable of playing deceit, but he is aware of how people will read his comments since he is the coach’s son and has experience playing in major schools. It’s a statement. Possibly to himself first and foremost.

“Everyone has their role in it. It starts with me,” he stated. “We’ve got to pick ourselves out of this. … We have to make an internal change in how we attack things. How we come to work every day. It starts with the little things, how committed we are to doing what we’re doing. And it all starts with me, the quarterback. It’s a challenge I’m embracing. As challenging as these times are, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. Just a matter of believing.”

Hurts was only allowed 143 passing yards and threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter, one of which forced a long pass on the last play when a field goal would have knotted the game. Hurts was playing despite sickness, so overall, the Eagles offense was a misfire even though the quarterback contributed 82 running yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Hurts said after the game, “It’s a matter of being on the same page.” “It takes everyone being all in, in all aspects. And it starts with me. There’s multiple opportunities out there. In the end, there’s just not another way you’d have it. The trust that we have in one another, how much we communicate as players. … We just have to be better; I have to be better. Minimize the mistakes, the penalties, the mental errors. Play team football and it starts with me leading that. We’ve lost games because I can be better. That will change everything, and I accept that.”

The Eagles offense is just too good to be playing with the erratic performance they have been exhibiting lately. It was awful to be hammered by the Cowboys and 49ers. being thwarted by a Seahawks defense that has already lost a lot of games this year? Even worse.

“You can point the finger at whatever,” he said. “I didn’t do a good enough job.”

The Eagles have been out of commission for the most of the season for various reasons. The defense is being set on fire one week. The offender then fails to locate the on-button. Nick Sirianni’s team managed to make it work over the first half of the season. The inconsistencies have hurt them over the last three weeks.

Philadelphia still has the power to win the NFC East, and even if their chances of finishing as the top seed were damaged on Sunday, they still have games left to play against the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Giants one more to round off the season.
